using Spybot - Search & Destroy

As a general rule before performing any of the below procedures make sure important documents are saved and applications are closed.

Update Spybot once a month and then do a scan.

Open Spybot from the Maintenance folder on the desktop. Once opened click on Search for Updates.

If updates are needed then place a check mark next to the item and click on Download Updates.

Once the download(s) are complete you will see a large green check mark and an empty box next to the item that was downloaded. Click on Immunize on the left hand side.

If there are some products that are not blocked, click on Immunize, afterwards click on Search & Destroy on the left hand side.

Once this screen appears click on Check for problems.

You will then see a screen similar to the below.

Once the scan is complete and finds items to remove, they will be automatically check so just click on Fix selected problems.

Then click on Yes to continue.

When the removal is complete click on OK.
